Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

The Al-Zaytoonah University Journal of Business (ZJJB) is committed to ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and integrity through a rigorous and transparent peer review process.

Review Model

The journal adopts a double-blind peer review model, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. This ensures fairness, objectivity, and impartial evaluation.

Initial Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be rejected without external review.

Reviewer Assignment

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications and research experience.

Review Criteria

Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Methodological rigor and validity
  • Clarity of presentation and organization
  • Quality of analysis and interpretation
  • Appropriateness of references

Review Timeline

  • Initial editorial decision: 1–2 weeks
  • Peer review process: 2–4 weeks
  • Final decision: 4–8 weeks from submission

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Authors receiving revision decisions are required to submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts to anyone other than those involved in the review process.

Conflict of Interest

Editors and reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Ethical Standards

The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical conduct will result in rejection and may lead to further action.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The use of AI tools by reviewers or editors must not compromise the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Uploading manuscript content to external AI systems is strictly prohibited.
